This is a series of photos of various jazz musicians playing a late night jam session at Jazz Bistro. What I wanted to achieve through these photos is to express the fluidity, freedom, and musical joy that comes with live jazz. I referenced Herman Leonard’s jazz photography, where his photos are high contrast and where he captures the range of expressions through the musicians’ gesture and other props like instruments and lighting.
